Your day long 4x4 journey begins in the morning when you will meet your guide at the Muscat Port gate. Your first stop is Barka, where you will see a camel breeding farm that is famous for its Omani thoroughbreds. Throughout this fascinating village, you will enjoy the scenic views that include an immense date plantation.
Your next stop is one of the most stunning wadis, Wadi Abyadh. Not only will you be happy to take a refreshing dip in the crystal clear rock pools, you will get to observe the many ophiolite rocks covering the area. Your journey continues as you move to Wadi Mistal, where you will visit two villages, Hadash and Wekan. Your picnic lunch will be served right before going to visit Wakan, the "Agriculture Village," which sits 1700 meters above sea level. Special Instructions
Comfortable lightweight summer clothing and walking shoes is suitable for most of the year, but sweaters or jackets may be needed for the winter months, especially in the evenings. Good quality sunglasses are advised, and photo-chromatic lenses for those who wear spectacles. Hats and some protection for the head are advisable when in direct sunlight. The Sultanate of Oman has conservative dress traditions. Swimwear must be confined to the beach and hotel pools. Men and women should ensure shoulders and knees are covered when in public, especially in souks, shops/malls and villages.

Must be able to get in/out of vehicle. Normal tourist photography is acceptable, but it is considered offensive to photograph Arab women. It is also courteous to ask permission before photographing men. Photographs of government buildings, police or military installations are not allowed. In that role, Mr. Miller was responsible for contributing to Abercrombie & Kent's international growth through the development and acquisition of tour products and travel experiences around the world with a specific focus on cruising and land based experiences. Prior to joining Abercrombie & Kent, Mr. Miller held a variety of executive positions with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises for more than a decade. These positions included Vice President of Guest Sales & Service, Vice President of Brand Development, and Vice President of Onboard Revenue (which included shore excursions). Mr. Miller also led Celebrity Expeditions, a collection of outstanding and unique tours around the World.
Michael Bonner
Mr. Bonner has over a decade of experience working in the cruise industry in a variety of roles for both Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Viking River Cruises. Most recently, Mr. Bonner was the Chief Operating Officer for The Scholar Ship, a Royal Caribbean program aimed at providing college students onboard educational programs in conjunction with enriching shore excursions around the world. Mr. Bonner also helped co-manage Viking River Cruises U.S. Operations, and he ran the corporate, strategic, and deployment planning functions at Royal Caribbean.
